[ Shortly before she's no where to be found, there's a delivery tucked under his door. ]
Who knew there were benefits of being unable to go back to sleep? We can call this one a prototype. - Morgana
[ Inside are two thin, almost bracelet like devices that should fit neatly with his web shooters, able to be taken on and off as needed. She'd offered to magic up his webbing, and while he hadn't said yes or no either way, she'd decided to play around with with an idea when she couldn't fall back asleep a few nights ago. So, a few hours of conjuring and transfiguring later, these are the results.
She didn't stick (ha) anything that would harm him in it, but she's also not sure of what effects they might have when used, since she hadn't exactly studied his devices up close. She'd been going for a range of at least three or four different effects; stuff like making people fall unconscious when hit with it, for example, or maybe a magical migraine-inducing webbing thing.
Sadly, she won't be around to find out what all it'll do if he ever uses them. ]
Peter is finally recovered enough to trek back to the lab, and with him, he carries the bracelets that Morgana left him. She disappeared before he had a chance to thank her or even try them out, but he had enough time now to put it to the test.
Down in the lab, he straps on his web shooters - the regular one on the left and the broken one on the right, and then attaches the bracelets on top of them. Immediately, he feels a warmth around his wrists, like energy humming just beneath the metal. He makes a target on the other end of the lab and aims for it, tapping his middle and ring fingers to his palm like he would to release his regular webbing.
To his surprise, webbing does shoot out from the bracelets and it hits the target, leaving behind a soft blue glow. Peter goes up to the wall to inspect it and feels a spark when his fingers touch it. "Electric webs," he whispers, in awe that the magic could replicate a type of webbing he had back home.
Over the next few days, he experiments with the bracelets, eventually taking the web shooters off when he realizes he doesn't need them anymore. The bracelets produce their own webbing, an infinite supply that never needs to be reloaded. He tries to think of other kinds of webbing, and the bracelets follow his thoughts.
He discovers he can create impact webs, ones that hit the wall with a crack and leave dents in the concrete. His regular webs come to him as well, still glowing light blue but with the same tensile strength and stretch. Peter waits around with web samples, and just like his formula, they too dissolve after an hour.
The final type of web he discovers on the final day, when he emerges from the labs to find that another event has taken place and many residents seem to be overcome with a strange form of pica. These he's never had before, and he ends up calling them gravity webs. He discovers this when he hits the target on the wall with the web, and it drags the entire thing to the ground.
He tests this one longer than the others, throwing things into the air, catching them in a web casing, and watching them crash to the floor. He even introduces a live subject and brings one of his spiders to the lab, where he observes it becoming completely immobile in the gravity web before freeing it with the dissolving spray.
This invention is a game changer. He only wishes that Morgana was around to see it, and he determines that if he ever sees her again, he'll give her a proper demonstration.
