It feels more natural to have Peter puttering around the lab again. It feels a little like having a distant relative come to visit. He's even dusted the shelving to make sure it's presentable. It would be awful for Peter to think they're slobs down here.

He's settled back at his workspace by the time Peter does arrive, though, with the pieces of a ery specific kind of webshooter spread out on his desk. He's trying to reconstruct the design from memory. He hadn't had the opportunity to check on the younger Peter's equipment, but it all had to serve a similar function, right? Hopefully it'll do.

[He knows it's not the time. He knows it's not the place. And yet...]

Hi, Peter. Just checking in.

Do you want to meet up today? I've got no plans.

[ Shortly before she's no where to be found, there's a delivery tucked under his door. ]

Who knew there were benefits of being unable to go back to sleep? We can call this one a prototype.

[ Inside are two thin, almost bracelet like devices that should fit neatly with his web shooters, able to be taken on and off as needed. She'd offered to magic up his webbing, and while he hadn't said yes or no either way, she'd decided to play around with with an idea when she couldn't fall back asleep a few nights ago. So, a few hours of conjuring and transfiguring later, these are the results.

She didn't stick (ha) anything that would harm him in it, but she's also not sure of what effects they might have when used, since she hadn't exactly studied his devices up close. She'd been going for a range of at least three or four different effects; stuff like making people fall unconscious when hit with it, for example, or maybe a magical migraine-inducing webbing thing.

Sadly, she won't be around to find out what all it'll do if he ever uses them. ]

[After debating between a text or voice message, she goes for the latter.]

Hi, Peter. It's Bela. Don't feel you have to answer this message immediately if you're asleep or busy, but I am checking in. Hoping that you're out of the fog and not dead in a ditch. Because I'd be very pissed off at you if you were.

[Bela sighs.]

I didn't know you knew Kate by the way. We came up with a plan between us for when you're back. Because you are back. It involves hugging you, giving you some food and then yelling at you for going out into the fog. But we also realised that nothing would stop you from helping people so I hope you did.

[She's almost done.]

Suppose it's a solo plan now. I've got some food and a hug ready for you. I'll try not to yell. Goodbye.

Hey! So um. When you got your mark and your teeth, did those happen overnight, or were they gradual changes?

[Because truthfully, it's probably safer to meme AFTER the plants have made weird things happen rather than encourage it even more while they're around.]

[ She exhales shakily. ]

It has been years now since Hell has been redone and made even greater than ever before. And you, my prized guest, have made it twelve months in your journey towards redemption.
